Additions to Walter’s Woods

Volunteers putting up structure

A team of Georgia Tech students designed and built the kiosk last November.

Neighbors. I'm thrilled to announce two new completed structures in Walter's Woods, built by GA Tech student volunteers. The first is a roofed kiosk with a message board, where FHNA & WW events and information will be posted. The second is our Outdoor Library, filled with books on birds, amphibians, and other wildlife, gardening both for food and nature, weather, geology, and other environmental subjects. We have something for all ages, from picture books to bird-watching guides. If you have any science- or nature-themed books, please feel free to add them. Take a stroll down the paths soon and check them out!

Recently, another team of Georgia Tech students stained the kiosk and added cork message boards.

New Little Free Library

Last November a team of Georgia Tech students built the library box from repurposed kitchen cabinets. Another team decorated and mounted the box last weekend.

Books in Little Free Library

The Outdoor Library features books on gardening, wildlife, tree & wildflower identification, environmental phenomena, and other outdoor themes.
